A one day event featuring scholars from UCR, UCLA, UCSC, UCI & UCSF presenting results from their UC Multi-Campus Research Project, 2023-2025, including (in alphabetical order): Helen Deutsch (UCLA), Brian Dolan (UCSF), Matthew King (UCR), James K. We are a collaborative initiative of five UC campuses, including Riverside, Irvine, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco. Our project addresses health disparities in institutions and policy. With the support of a three-year, $1.3 million research grant from UCOP, the multicampus research team aims to advance health equity and structural transformation through research, curriculum development, and training that is grounded in health humanities methodologies and theories.
This one-day event marks the launch of our research and teaching modules. Each of the five campuses will lead a hands-on workshop to demonstrate how our institutions could benefit from research, training, and creative practices that center abolition medicine and disability justice.
